Fashion’s Night Out (FNO) is the shopaholic’s version of a bar crawl. It was spearheaded by Vogue’s Anna Wintour (and CFDA) in 2009, as a way to get people shopping again after the market crashed and retail sales were in the can. Oh how I miss those sales of 2009. I will save those stories of rock bottom prices, which turned the Macys shopper into the Saks shopper over night, for my grandkids.
Anyways, on September 8, 2011 in New York City, Fashion Week will launch and Fashion’s Night Out will be hosted with more than 1000 stores in area participating. Participating how? Some will have special deals, free gift, celebrity guest appearences, sell official FNO merchandise (totally genius Anna), have parties and generally have a better night than a normal Thursday. People fly in from all over the world to shop in NYC on this night, it does wonders for the NYC economy and for fashion fans. FNO Forever!
