Trend: GymFan

We have a new trend among us friends.  It is what I call the “GymFan”.  The GymFan is the previous owner and advocate of many a Juicy velour track suits but has now found a great new replacement for their casual fashion with performance gear.  I’ve witness many women wearing very sporty and athletic looking gym clothes around the city without actually working out in them.  The reason I know they haven’t been to the gym is because their make-up and hair is fresh and perfectly applied and most of time they are not wearing sneakers but normal shoes or Uggs without toting a gym bag.

Here is my proof of this overwhelming trend in workout clothes.  Take a look at what was front and center as I entered the Gap.  When have you ever walked into the Gap and confused it with Sports Authority? I did this weekend.

Look at how cute this top is?  Guess what, it is made with the gym rat in mind, complete with sweat wicking material.  I really love how cool they are making gym clothes now.  I feel like I could go out in this top. The trend is truly functional and fashionable.

And look at how they are describing their new black workout pant, the label reads “Sexy Boot: low rise, fitted through the thigh, contoured slimming seams…. ” and if that isn’t supposed to inspire the non-workout person to try on these pant,s I don’t know what will.

Like I said, workout clothes is the new fuzzy zip-ups. Hopefully, this new garb will inspire some actual sweat ethics and the GymFan will help embrace a more healthy lifestyle for all in the new year.
