As promised, Latashia of Earned Beauty reviewed some of the Pure Shine/Hask hair products that I had previously reviewed (read my review HERE) that claim to work for all ethnicity hair types. We wanted to test how they would hold up with my Cacaucsion hair vs. Latashia’s African American hair and here is was she said:
My friend and fellow blogger Cori of LadyBowTie was given the opportunity to review a few hair care products -PureShine (Alleghany Pharmacal Corporation). Since the products claim to work on ethnic hair types as well, she asked that I try a few. I have rated each product on a scale from 1 to 4 (1 being poor 4 being excellent). Here are my results.
PureShine Curls Lotion-
Product claims to:
- Creates Soft, Hydrated, Frizz-Free Curls
- Lightweight & Alcohol-Free Formula
- Works With Hair Of All Types
Rated 2 1/2. The product did indeed hydrate my coif and provided frizz control. The lotion is very lightweight and has a great clean scent. It did work with my frizzy texture.
-However, It did not last all day, I found myself re-applying the formula at least twice.
PureShine Frizz Remedy-
Product claims to:
- Incredible shine & instant frizz control
- For smooth, luxurious locks
- Lightweight, humidity-resistant formula
Rated 2. Controls frizz and shine, however, I did not like the way the product made my texture feel, Stiff and hard to the touch. Also, the shine did not last long, not even a full day for me.
Pure Shine Polishing Serum-
Product claims to:
- Repairs And Conditions Dry, Damaged Hair Of All Types
- Formulated With Botanicals And Silk Proteins
- Creates A Lasting Shine And Controls Frizz
- Lightweight, Non-Oily Serum
Rated 2. Same results as the PureShine Frizz Remedy. Controls frizz and shine, however, only for a little while. This product, again, left my hair feeling a bit stiff.
Hask Placenta Natural Essentials Complete Conditioning Treatment
Product claims to:
- Strengthens, Repairs & Adds Body
- Creates Glossy Shine And Volume
- Fuses Botanicals And Oils
- Repairs Split Ends
- For All Hair Types
Rated 3- This product worked as advertised. It created a glossy shine, added body, the smell is great and it left my hair feeling smooth, not heavy.
Hask Macadamia Oil Shine Treatment Vial
Product claims to:
- Absorbs Instantly
- Alcohol Free
- Smooths, Revitalizes and Heals
The Hask Macadamia Oil shine treatment, rich in Omega 7, Vitamin E and Antioxidants, absorbs into hair instantly. This lightweight, alcohol-free formula smooths, revitalizes and heals all hair types.
Rated 3-. Product smoothed and provided shine. It has a lovely scent and my hair definitely looked healthier.
Hair is looking great Latashia! As your results confirm, Pure Shine/Hask only did an “okay” job with your hair type and it performed better on my hair. However, we both loved Hask Macadamia Oil Shine Treatment Vial so this product is the big winner within this hair product review. Thanks Latashia! I look forward to more collaborations in the future.
