Happy 1st Birthday LadyBowTie!
As I sit here on the eve of the first anniversary of this blog, sipping a glass of red wine in celebration and pondering what feel about the last year. I can’t help but to think of my husband who is sitting watching the Mets in the room down the hall while my daughter is asleep in her crib. I’m thinking how grateful I am for their support for allowing me the time to hide away and create this blog everyday. I’m also incredible grateful to my family and my friends (and all my new friends) who have encouraged LadyBowTie and who have sent me great links and articles that they thought might be useful or good topics for my next post. And last but not least, I’m incredibly humbled by all my readers and Facebook and Twitter fans who have signed on, checked in, forwarded, shared, Pin’d and Tweet’d my posts – seriously, without you LadyBowTie would cease to exist. Thank you.
LadyBowTie started out as such a fluke. Some fun thoughts and pictures of street style in the city I love and its turned into so much more. I went back into my post logs to see where I’ve started and where I am today and just had to smile at what has been accomplished. Take a look:

I look at some of the numbers and I just can’t believe how much I’ve had to say. Ha! (I’m sure a lot you are wondering that exact same thing. Ha!) LadyBowTie has grown and is continuing to grow at an alarming rate I can barely keep up. But I am and I I will. I read recently that blogging is not a test of who is the best writer but of pure endurance – I completely agree with that.
LadyBowTie has gone from a style blog into a courage building machine. She has encouraged me to do what I’ve always wanted to do – produce fashion shows, style fashion editorals and launch and online store! I am very proud of my college degree and I suggest everyone gets one but, I have to tell you the best education that I’ve ever received is starting this website. The learning curve building this site has taught me more in one year than five years of higher education put together – its astounding. I want to say the same to you – learn and soak in as much of your education as you can and then DO. Make the most of every ounce your knowledge and build your own future – you can do it, I know you can.
Let this be my “press release” that LadyBowTie will be launching an online style shop this Spring. The page is up there now and is under construction, my merchandise is coming in and I’m getting very excited to show you all the cool stuff I’ve hand picked just for you. This online store is the DREAM it is what I’ve been waiting to do my entire life and its finally happening. I can barely stand how long it takes to build but, I’m going to be patient and take my time so I can bring you the best possible merchandise and shopping experience possible.
In honor of LadyBowTie’s 1st birthday, all next week I’m going to be posting some of my favorite articles from this past year. So hopefully you will get to read some of your favorites and new readers will get to enjoy them for the first time.
LadyBowTie is truly a labor of love and if you keep loving her I’ll keep doing it. ~Cori
