A couple of weeks ago I visited apparel and accessories whole sale Coterie in New York City to preview Fall ’13. It is a giant show that spreads through two different convention centers, the Pier 94 and Javits Center. Just about every brand you can think of in the junior contemporary to bridge market was represented: L.A.M.B., Elizabeth & James, Paige Denim, Free People to smaller lines like I carry Knitted Dove…
It is very exciting being a new buyer in this industry when only a year ago I was on the other side of the table selling as wholesaler. I loved selling at the shows and meeting the buyers and helping them pick out their lines for their stores. And it was a whole lot less pressure than running your own store and putting your real money where your mouth is. But you know what, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I have and am still having the best time of my life experiencing all aspects of the fashion biz. Each choice you make from working at the mall after school, paves the way for bigger things. Life really is what YOU make of it.
I’ve attached a few pictures from Coterie, new looks, the environment and of course Style Espionage at the show. Enjoy!
